      #1Author Interview

    1. Describe what "gumbo genre" is to your readers.

I’ve dubbed myself as “the gumbo genre” novelist because books shouldn’t be lightly seasoned. I write stories with drama, drizzled with suspense, seasoned with romance, and peppered with a few good laughs and an occasional cry. I try to be unique, especial with series’ so readers aren’t seeing patterns throughout the installments. For example, the Shaw Family Saga, Miss Nobody was a mixture of drama and touched on suspense. The future books add fire of emotions, action, suspense, spiritual awakening. With gumbo, every bite is new and unique.

    2. What is one experience as a counselor that had the most impact on you? Has it influenced your writing?

I’ve listened to horror story after horror story–that is life for teenagers and little children. A student whose mother was murdered by a Los Angeles serial killer–I’ll never forget his motivation to succeed through it all. A five year old that is left at home alone, a high schooler that comes home to find the apartment empty and parents have moved without telling him, so now he’s a gang member. They believe that being in a gang provides them with family. One girl similar to teenage Raven is in an abusive relationship. These girls lose themselves in guys that are “popular” as Raven did with Chris in Miss Nobody. Their stories work on my emotions slowly, and I can literally feel Raven’s depression in the first books. By the time the series ends, the readers are dealing with a lifetime impact of family issues.

    4. How do your characters deal with their abandonment issues?

Charlene redirects her issues into the form of acting. She will overcompensate for not taking care of Raven. Raven is very internal, holding in her problems and tries to keep secrets. I do show theme evolving somewhat, because learning to cope takes years.

    5. Describe your writing process.

I co-weave drama by writing the first draft of a story and making bullet points for some of the plot to be answered in other series. There are issues from Miss Nobody that have traveled over to Miss Perfect. Not big ones where the reader gets frustrated, waiting for a resolution. I wouldn’t do that. It gets annoying. But when you get to book three and four, your bottom lip will drop, realizing that a small issue in book one was sooo very important.

    6. What advice can you offer to new writers?

Get a thick skin. Not all stories are for everybody. You will get a review from a reader who thinks the story should have gone left when it went right. Read every review, take some of your fans advice, oftentimes it is useful. I’ve had book clubs invite me to discussions, and they come up with themes in my stories that I didn’t even know I had. It is awesome.

Excerpt
I’m going to kill myself…” The words pulled Raven in and shook her to the core. She closed her eyes momentarily and rubbed her face with the back of her hand.
Why of all times?
Her mind, her body, her soul warned her to hurry to the jaded teen, but the ease of the Marcielago engine indicated that she might not make it down the hill if she sped too fast. Less than fifteen minutes later, Raven slowed down in Sadie’s neighborhood of three-story mini mansions. She parked on the driveway of Sybille’s Spanish-style villa and hopped out of the car.

In distressed jeans and a long tee, Sadie loomed on the wrought iron banister from her bedroom balcony. The sun had been cast out by the willow trees, the day already misty–a muggy wet summer indeed–Sadie’s Converses could slip from the banister and down she’d go. All because she couldn’t take Raven’s breakup. Jon wanted Raven to rid herself of Tyriq, and knowing that brother and sister were so close, she’d called Sadie over to tell her the same.
“Please!” Raven held up her hands, eyes wet with worry.

“Come up, Sis. Come see me.”
“Okay, oh-kay…” Raven hurried to the front door, her hands went to the knobs and she yanked them both open. Mud on her feet trekked over the white carpet as she took the stairs two at a time. Inside Sadie’s room, with its mellow yellow walls, butterfly and smiley face stickers, scattered makeup. It was a room for… a confused soul who knew not if she wanted to transform from child to adult, a mixture of confused adolescence. When Raven stepped out onto the deck, there was no trace of Sadie.
“Sis…” Sadie called.
Raven turned around. She hadn’t seen this area before. There should’ve been just a wall with posters of young rap groups and pictures but no, the wall was gone. Within the folds was an opened stainless steel door.

“Sadie,” Raven hurried to her. She could’ve slapped the teen, but hugged Sadie instead. “Don’t ever do that again. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. That was stupid of me, but don’t…” her voice broke as Sadie let her go. The apology for abandoning a friend lay dormant within the bristling of her belly. She knew disregarding Sadie because of her brother, Tyriq was–
“Raven.” Tyriq spoke her name in multisyllabic, as if years apart had torn his heart into pieces and just this mere sight of her, slowly intertwined the meat of it back together.
She glared at him.
BOOM.
The steel door slammed shut. Raven looked around. His sister was out of sight, except for a few monitors linked to the panic room. Sadie stood just on the other side of the partition, looking into the camera.

“I need you and Tyriq to talk things out.” Sadie smiled, wiping away tears.
The five-by-five safe room decreased in size. Raven refused to look at him. Refused to acknowledge his presence, even though he tried. Too angry to retort, she glared at Sadie’s innocent eyes. A few minutes later Sadie asked how it was going.
Tyriq pressed the intercom, “Not well.”
“Have you lost your mind?” Raven asked.
He let go of the button. He looked at her with eyes that bore right through her soul. “Do you know how much you hurt Sadie?”
Forget that, she asked, “Was this your idea?”
“No.”

“How could you let your little sister stand on the ledge like that!”
“Sadie can tightrope walk. Look,” he began with a seedy breath. “This is not you–the breaking up of friends? That’s ridiculous. Even if we have a falling out, Sadie has nothing to do with it.”
“Well, you just brought her in to this!”
“I didn’t know what she planned. She just told me you’d be here today.”
“Okay, Detective,” she smirked in disbelief.

“You didn’t grow up putting friends aside. You’ve always been very loyal to the point of being at fault. Remember the time you picked up Sadie from that town at the tippy top of Texas! She’d shoplifted with her rich friends. You wouldn’t just stop being friends with her…”
Raven batted back tears. He was right. Though she wouldn’t admit, she hummed within the confines of her brain trying not to hear the things she’d done for Jon. Whatever her husband wanted, he got, and would always get.

Fact: Who are Israelis and Palestinians? Who are Gentiles?

I use to question what times or fullness of the Gentiles would mean, and recently when I do some thought I think it is partly fulfilled. Here I write down what I thought to be true, and maybe it is related to and is part of the fullness of the Gentiles.

To explain about the fullness of the Gentiles, I think I have to find two different nations - Israel and Gentiles. But, instead of finding two biologically different nations, I found one great but divided nation. Or at least we the world are all biologically related again, this time to Israel, not mentioning that we the world are already one family in Adam and Eve.

If we look back into history, we learn that Israel has lost their Northern kingdom to Assyria around the year 740 BC, which is approximately 2754 years back. And they were being carried away to another land, but just to be distributed to all nations.

In the year 597 BCE the kingdom of Judah or Israel Judah was also conquered by Babylon and the people were again deported out of the land.
And there are many other dark events that came to pass, to fulfill prophecies, including the Prophecy of Our Jesus Christ.

There has also been many regional wars around the world, eg/like Mughal Invasion on South-Western Himalayas.

Such events spread Israelis to the world and placed them in position to reach further places and peoples in the world, not counting the remnants in the land.

   See mapsofwar -

Though it is a sad thing for Israel and those affected by wars and other unwanted events, the later seemed to be a good one. It made Israel mixed up with the majority of the world if not all, and for the second time make the world biologically related.

The Remnants of Israel in the Promised land too were mixed with the Palestinian and other nations around the land.

Certainly the girls and boys attracted to the eyes of the conquering gentiles/nations or the people where they go get married to them, and that ended up in including the genes of one another in their descendant and make them related or belong to one nation.

And certainly the hardened Israelis ended up converting to the local religions, if not modify their practices with it and become completely mixed, - turning the Gentiles into Israelis.
Thus, the Israelis were well immersed/mixed, as a leaven in bread, with all people of different works.
Maybe that is one of the fulfillments of the fullness of the Gentiles if it carries more than one meaning.

Though there may be Israelis who we consider less mingled with other nations, it is hard to think there are unmingled Israelis and Gentiles anymore.

There is very less chance of the world for not becoming biologically Israelis or one nation, as the process of intermarriage has been on for more than 2800 years.

This verse even adds to the good news, "Hosea 7: 8 Ephraim has allowed himself to get mixed up with the nations. Ephraim is unturned bread baked on a griddle."

So, then, would not the Nazi evil deeds to the Jews, in other word Israelis were just a cruel deeds against ones' own kinsfolk? Would not the modern Palestinian and Israel are all Israelis, and if they chose to be called Gentiles, that already is in all our genes too?

Why on earth should we brothers and sisters hate one another? Why should there be war between one human, one people? Can't we think at least as a human that we all are one species?
Surely if we give ourselves to humanity, we all will come to realize who we are at least as human and love one another.
And then we can easily make one happy world where we the People govern - rule.

Considering that some, if not all of us think there are still few unmixed Gentiles and Israel, they are still kinsfolk because Israel has been well mixed with all People of Nations. And to whom they are mixed with turns out to be a relative to one who is may not be mixed or well mixed.

Who can tell this or that is not mixed or well mixed?
The word, 'Gentile' according to google definition also means nothing different but a good one which is ‘of a family or nation, of the same clan.’ And that truly tells us well that Israel and Gentiles are one family, one nation and the same clan.
That also tells we all are the descendants of or one family in Adam and Eve, and then Noah and his wife, whose name may be Naamah.

Your Debt and A Little About The Painful Hell

Do you agree, though you may think the world owes you something, the fact is you owe the world instead?
Do you have any trouble in understanding this saying which you may have come across, 'Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first,' by  Mark Twain?
In other words or, can you digest this related words, "Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law." (Roman 13: 8)
Let me write the completion, 'you owe love to all your kins, the world.'

A quick pop-up word or question or both comes right into the mind, is it? - 'Never or Impossible.' 'How and why is that?'

Maybe you are an atheist or can't accept the sacrificial laws, but you need to know about the future at the least, which is written in the ending of this post - The Hard Way. So, you may skip the explanation, on how and why you owe your all to the world, written right below but let it be according to your choice.

The Scripture best explain about it. Without the Scripture, surely Mark Twain could be wrong.
As written in the Scripture, The First and Incomparable Great Jesus Christ Emmanuel has said, '
Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another.'

Why, why, why? And, why, why, why and why?

   The Process
Because, your ancestor has done evil and so are you. And now you are destine to and will go to and be punished in Hell for sure, if Jesus Christ has not loved you.
But, because He has loved you, He has died on behalf of you and you are free from your destiny. And, so is me.

Can Jesus Christ Emmanuel really die on behalf of me? How can His simple death on earth can save me from Hell? He would have to die in Hell to save me?
Oh, yea, you are right. If a sinner like you has to die on your behalf and save you, he surely must be burned in Hell. LOL
But, that sinner would not be able to suffer and die for your behalf even in Hell. Because he deserve it too, LOL

Yet, the difference with Jesus Christ Emmanuel is, He is God, The First Son of The Most High God, Who have been with God The Father, The Most High from the beginning. (- Proverb 8: ..22, 23,...29 - 31)
And, He is like a Virgin, and Blameless. He keep all the Laws of His Father, The Father. And, He don't even deserve a single whip, needless to say of death on earth.
That is why His death on earth on behalf of you is more than enough to save you from your destiny. Thus the Scripture, "
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3: 16)

   The Reason
Because He loved the world so much till death, and saved you by His death (and also resurrection), you owe to Him the same love which He has given you.

The Way (to God and His Heaven)
And you know the way to give Him the same love is by giving the same love to your kins, the world. For, what you do to the world, you do to Him. As He Himself has foretold, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ (Matthew 25: 40, 45)

Salvation is as simple as that, my love.

Therefore, open your treasure boxes and give it to the world to make a better and happy world. That's how you save treasure in Heaven.
Anyway, you will not be poor because you give yourself for the poor. In fact, we are talking about making a better and happy world for all, for everyone deserves the best.

Or The Other Way - The Hard Way

Yet, if you continue to chose to hoard the riches of this earth, which you can't even take away with you when you die, you will burn in Hell with the Devil who you chose to be your Father.

And, here is a little explanation of Hell, so that you may know in advance that it is so a great adversity to be chosen. But if you still chose for Hell by being greedy and selfish.
You will surely see and feel that you have made the wrong choice.

When you are cast in Hell, you will be heated by the hot fire. And you
will feel the greatest thirst which no one had ever felt even on desert without water. You will feel your throat as a hollow fire-heated pipeline in need of water to cool down.
At that same time, you will have a self-realization that you have kept the riches of the world in your tight fist. And that is why, many poor people felt thirst, and many die because of that, and many don't even have clean water to drink.
   - (Scriptural proof but example, Luke 16: 19 - 31)

You will also feel the greatest hunger, and you will see with your clear mind that it happen to you because you have never wanted to feed the poor and needy.

You will sense the smell of fire and brimstone, and you will be fed up of it and never end.

The fire will burn all your clothes and skin, and you will cry, 'Oh, why have I been tightfisted, I have stripped the clothes of the poor and needy on earth. Why?'

You will remember you have a nice air-condition at your temporary house on earth but outside your temporary home are heated by the scorching Sun and you don't care. And you cry louder, 'Oh, why am I so cruel there? Why am I so heartless?..'

Therefore, you want the easy or hard way???
You chose. You have to. That's your right and power.

But, for the good hearted to the poor and needy, they need not worry, for, it is written they will not lose their reward:   Hebrews 6:10
God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
   Matthew 10:42
And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward."
   Mark 9:41
Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward.

   Difinition: Begotten - Incarnate.
..He (God) gave His Only Begotten Son.. - He Gave His Only Incarnated Son (in Human form) to death,

that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
